The picture at the top of Angel Moraa was taken in July when the NMC team was there. I reached out to Missionary April Hershberger for a few more. And she not only sent some beautiful pictures of her, but she shared a funny story:
"We had taken the kids down to Khisa Haven on Saturday like we had been doing for the last several weeks. Angel happened to be in her wheelchair. She was pushing herself around the front room of the house. I am not sure if she noticed, or accidentally discovered, that her wheelchair would go down the front ramp outside. The ramp leads to the parking area. Suddenly, she wheeled herself out the front door and let her wheelchair go down the ramp. The stones in the driveway stopped her. She turned her wheelchair around and back to the door where she proceeded to let herself fly down the ramp again. She enjoyed it so much, she probably did it 5 or 6 times!"
We plan on building a wheelchair accessible playground on the property. But Angel found a way to "slide" before we were even able to start! She is such a joy to be around. We look forward to experiencing how moving to the Khisa Haven and having that forever home will change Angel.
