Update and pictures provided by Missionary April Hershberger:
“ So, George has a unique way of communicating. When I go into Wing C and greet him, he will frequently come up, smile , take my hand, and lead me to the door. One time, when my hands were full and I could not set the stuff down, he came up and hooked his arm through mine. Then, he will wait for me to take him for a walk somewhere. I generally try to stop whatever I am doing to let him know that his communication is being "heard." That particular day that I took the photos, I decided to give the trampoline a try. Though he did not want to stand to jump, he enjoyed me jumping near him and bouncing him. If I stopped, he would scoot over close to me to take my hand like he used to on the trampoline to communicate he wanted to jump again.
George loves riding in the car. When we take a trip down to Khisa Haven we bring him to the car and ask him to climb in, he will get in all on his own and we ask him to scoot over to let someone else sit beside him and he will immediately scoot over. You will often hear him laughing as we drive along.”
Thanks so much April for the pics and great info!!!
