When Jabali first came to us, he had suffered from aspiratory pneumonia which made his first days at the Baby Centre quite difficult. Not only did he have to recover physically, but his heart had to learn to trust again. Over time, though, we saw the Lord’s goodness in Jabali’s life as he adapted to the Baby Centre and eventually became a smile machine!
Although Jabali has left us with many wonderful memories, we’ll always remember his incredible disdain for omena (sardines). No matter how enticing our team made them, Jabali wanted no part in it! However, this little boy loved soup, and he had a habit of asking for more of it to distract us from the omena still on his plate.
We will miss little Jabali, but we take joy in the happiness, comfort, and love shown by his forever family during the adoption ceremony. What a gift it is to see him grow from the scared, untrusting little boy to one who left content in the arms of his forever family!
