While we were in Kenya, the director, Dan Jacobs, received a call that a baby had been abandoned. It was around 10pm. The hard and fast rule for safety in Kenya is to never travel at night. But, as I'm sure has happened many times before, Dan immediately said we will be there to get him. A quick trip into town and a sleepy little baby was soon coming home with us. He was quiet, but when Dana offered him a banana, we soon learned he was very hungry. The caregivers immediately welcomed him and helped him settle for the night. The next morning when I went to visit him, he was sleeping soundly. When I came back later he was awake, happy and seemed very comfortable in his new surroundings. Thaddeus seemed to especially like our nurse - Robert. Thaddeus is an easy going and sweet little guy. We pray he continues to grow in health and strength.
